Key Responsibilities
- On-Site Investigations: Conduct on-site visits to residential and business addresses of loan applicants to verify personal and financial information provided in loan applications.
- Interview applicants, family members, neighbors, employers, and other relevant parties to gather
information on employment status, income sources, residency, and other pertinent details.
- Document Verification: Verify documents submitted by loan applicants, including identification documents, income statements,
bank statements, and property documents, to ensure authenticity and accuracy. - Collect additional documents or evidence as needed to support the verification process and ensure
compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Risk Assessment: Assess the creditworthiness of loan applicants based on findings from field investigations, evaluating factors such as employment stability, income sources, repayment capacity, and financial stability.
- Identify potential risks, discrepancies, or red flags in applicant profiles and provide recommendations to
credit underwriters for further review and evaluation.
- Report Preparation and Documentation: Prepare detailed field investigation reports documenting findings, observations, and recommendations based on interviews, site visits, and document verification.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of report submissions, adhering to established reporting
standards and guidelines.
- Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with internal departments, including credit, underwriting, and collections teams, to share
investigation findings, address inquiries, and support decision-making processes. - Communicate effectively with loan applicants, dealerships, and external stakeholders to facilitate the
investigation process, address concerns, and maintain professionalism in all interactions - Compliance and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements governing field
investigations and credit underwriting processes. - Adhere to ethical standards, confidentiality requirements, and privacy regulations in handling sensitive
information and conducting investigations. - Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in field investigation
techniques and tools. - Participate in training programs, workshops, and skill development activities to enhance investigative skills,
knowledge of fraud detection, and risk mitigation strategies.
Qualification
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in criminology, finance, or related field preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in field investigation, credit verification, or related roles, preferably in the financial services
industry or NBFC sector. - Strong investigative skills, with the ability to gather information, conduct interviews, and analyze documents to
assess credit risk and verify applicant information. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse
stakeholders and maintain confidentiality in sensitive situations. - Attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness in conducting investigations and preparing detailed reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and mobile applications for data collection and report generation.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a field-based
environment. - Flexibility to travel extensively within assigned geographic areas and work variable hours as needed to complete
field investigations and meet business requirements.
